How to Make a Grand Entrance

One of the best ways to kick off the ceremony is with a memorable entrance and exit. There’s nothing more exciting than pulling up to the wedding in a Rolls Royce convertible. This could make more of an impression than a couture wedding gown; while what you wear and say will be forgotten within a couple years, it will be the unique aspects that the guests will remember for the rest of their life. In whatever way you decide to commemorate the moment – whether by helicopter or wagon – just make sure that you do it in classic bridal style.
Vintage Cars
The most popular selection of wedding transportation generally consists of limousines and vintage sports cars. Many brides and grooms consider these to be “safe” picks and a guarantee that their wedding will be both stylish and sophisticated. Some examples of high-end luxury cars: 1930’s Jaguar Royale drophead, Bentley ‘R’ type, 1930’s style Ford Model A, and the Silver Mercedes. For ultimate impact, you may want to consider choosing a car with a removable top; however, don’t put the top down until you’re within sight of the ceremony (this is so you’re not in disarray upon arriving).
Limousines
Of all of the wedding transportation types, stretch limousines are by far the most overused. While they can be convenient and fun for you and the bridal party, most are usually not large enough to accommodate all of the key players. If you have more than 10 or so people in the group, a stretch limousine will not be spacious enough. At this point you may want to consider upsizing to a stretch SUV or party bus. Although these alternatives may seem like the lesser choice, they are actually much more spacious and lavish than a conventional limousine.
Helicopter
If you have the money to spend on the transportation and really want to “wow” your guests, imagine this: arriving to the ceremony by way of helicopter. This could be a practical option for you, especially if the ceremony site is located in a more remote part of town. If you’re not having a large wedding, you may even want to consider taking advantage of the bridal packages that most helicopter companies generally offer. These typically consist of a short (or long) flight to an isolated place of your choice. The minister will accompany you on the flight and be witness to the wedding if you don’t bring one of your own.
Horse and Carriage
The most romantic way is arriving to the wedding by horse and carriage. If you’re trying to model your wedding after the classic Cinderella fairytale, a white horse-drawn stagecoach would be ideal. You may need to call a few transportation companies in town in order to find one; but don’t lose hope! It doesn’t matter what city or town you live in, there are companies out there who rent them out – it’s just a matter of finding them.
